The collaboration between the two institutions continues in 2025 and will now include certified courses and a module dedicated to digital assets.
Lisbon, May 6, 2025 – Bison Bank, a Portuguese bank specializing in wealth management services, and Doutor Finanças, a fintech specializing in financial literacy, announce the continuation of their partnership in 2025. In 2024, through the “Banco de Horas” (Bank of Hours) initiative, Bison Bank and Doutor Finanças provided financial literacy training to over 2,000 students from nearly 40 higher education institutions across the country.
In 2025, the collaboration will include certified courses and an investment module, with a special focus on digital assets, to further empower young people with essential financial skills for today’s economy.
The partnership aims to address the critical need for financial literacy in Portugal, at a time when a significant portion of the population still lacks the knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions. By providing free workshops and educational resources, Bison Bank and Doutor Finanças are committed to equipping young people, particularly university students transitioning into the job market, with the tools they need to effectively manage their finances.
“We are very pleased to continue our partnership with Doutor Finanças and expand our reach to empower the next generation. Portugal, despite demonstrating positive progress, still has low levels of financial literacy compared to Europe,” says António Henriques, CEO of Bison Bank. “The addition of a digital assets module reflects our commitment to innovation and our belief that understanding cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology is important for navigating the future of finance,” concludes António Henriques.
Sérgio Cardoso, administrator of Academia Doutor Finanças, adds: “We believe that financial literacy is the foundation for a prosperous and stable future. Our focus has been precisely on providing knowledge, contributing to better financial decision-making. This partnership with Bison Bank helps us reach more young people, bringing them this essential knowledge and preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy.”
The certified courses will cover a variety of topics, including budgeting, saving, debt management, and investing. The new digital assets module provides an overview of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the risks and opportunities associated with this emerging asset class.
